Inference

How Do You Like Me Now?!
Toby Keith

I was always the crazy one
I broke into the stadium
And I wrote your number on the 50 yard line
You were always the perfect one
And the valedictorian so
Under your number I wrote "call for a good time"

I only wanted to catch your attention
But you overlooked me somehow
Besides you had too many boyfriends to mention
And I played my guitar too loud.

How do you like me now?
How do you like me now,
Now that I'm on my way?
Do you still think I'm crazy
Standin here today?
I couldn't make you love me
But I always dreamed about living in your radio
How do you like me now?

When I took off to Tennessee
I heard that you made fun of me
Never imagined I'd make it this far
Then you married into money girl
Aint it a cruel and funny world?
He took your dreams and tore them apart.

He never comes home
And you're always alone
And your kids hear you cryin down the hall
Alarm clock starts ringin
Who could that be singin
Its me baby, with your wake up call!

How do you like me now?
How do you like me now,
Now that I'm on my way?
Do you still think I'm crazy
Standin here today?
I couldn't make you love me
But I always dreamed about living in your radio
How do you like me now?

Tell me baby...
I will preach on...

I think this song is about a man in high school who was rejected by a popular girl and he really wanted to go out with her. She totally ignored him and married a rich man. He is never home and you can tell she regrets marring him. He is just showing her what a cool man he is/was and what he is missing.

1. And I wrote your number on the 50 yard line You were always the perfect one... I think he is just talking into the passed about how much he really liked her. He is talking very highly about her and not so highly about himself. Maybe he didn't think he was all that in high school.
2.Besides you had too many boyfriends to mention And I played my guitar too loud. I think this means that he was annoyed of her and stating he never had a chance. She was the popular one with lots of me and he was the annoying one who she wasn't interested in.
3.How do you like me now? I think that in this he is just stating that now he is really cool and showing her what she is missing. He may have not been very cool then but he sure is cool now.
4.Then you married into money girl Aint it a cruel and funny world?...He never comes home
And you're always alone And your kids hear you cryin down the hall.
I think that he is just stating the fact that she doesn't have as great of life as she thought she was going to have. Money can change you and ruin your whole world.
5. Its me baby, with your wake up call! I think he is just stating again how good his life is now and how horrible hers it. He is trying to show her that life can be better that what she is living right now.
