Casting Characters: Crucible

Kevin Costnar : Reverend Samuel Paris
I picked Kevin Costner to be Reverend Paris because he has a face that when you look at him you can tell he is a leader and that what he says goes. He also looks like he would have his own opinion and that he can persuade easily. I also picked him because the Reverend was in his 40's or 50's and Kevin is 55 and could still look like he is a bit younger.

Tamera Mowry: Tituba
I picked Tamera Mowry to play the part of Tituba because she is African American, and she is a great actress. In all of the shows I have seen her in, with her twin, she has been the one to be accused and she knows how to act that out. I also picked her because, even though she is a little young, she can broaden her acting abilities to be what ever age her part needs to be.

Dani Chuchran : Abigail "Abby" Williams
I picked Dani Chuchran to play the part of Abby because she is very pretty and young. She also looks like she can persuade easily and she looks like a leader. In other shows she has been in, she leads her group of people around and i think she could play a part of a leader perfectly.

George Clooney: Thomas Putnam
I picked George Clooney to play the part of Thomas Putnam because he looks like a man who would be able to keep up with a wife who is always accusing people and is never really sane. Also he is pretty well built and since Thomas was a farmer so he was probably pretty well built also. Thomas was wealthy and George is also fairly wealthy so he would no how to act in a part like this.

Brooke Sheilds: Goody Ann Putnam

I picked Brooke Sheilds to play the part of Goody Ann Putnam because she is at the age where she could have had eight children. She is also very pretty and she looks like the accusing type of person. Her and George Clooney also look like a cute couple to me.

Hugh Jackman : John Proctor
I picked Hugh Jackman to be John Proctor because he is attractive and just the right age to play this part. I say attractive because he needs to be in order for Abby to want to be with him. Also since John is a farmer he needs to be built and rugged and that is exactly what Hugh is.

Michelle Pfeiffer: Goody Elizabeth Proctor

I picked Michelle Pfeiffer to play the part of Elizabeth Proctor because she has a face that is pretty but also stern. Also in her movies she has always been the type to be jealous and in this movie Elizabeth gets jealous of Abby. Also she is about the right age for this part.

Spencer Locke : Mary Warren

I picked Spencer Locke to play the part of Mary Warren because she is described as young and she is among the girls that are dancing in the forest and they are all young. She also looks like she would be rebellious, hence the dancing, and she also looks like adults would like her and trust her. She also looks like her and Dani (Abby) would be good friends.

Julie Andrews : Goody Rebecca Nurse

I picked Julie Andrews to play the part of Rebecca Nurse because she is old enough to have grandchildren and she is very nice and sweet. She played the part of the run away nun in sound of music and was always trying to be charitable throughout the movie. When you see Julie Andrews you think nice and happy, you would never think of her as a witch, and that is why she would be good for the part of Rebecca nurse.

Reverend John Hale : Greg Kinnear

I Picked Greg Kinnear to play the part of the Reverend John Hale because he is clean cut so he could be a good reverend. He also looks like a very knowledgeable man who can be trusted.  In other show people looked up to him and that is what happens in this play.

Intro to Crucible: Honesty

We all lie. Even if we don't want to admit it, We all lie. I can t even tell you how far lying can take you through life. Lying can impact all of us. But honesty, honesty is always the best policy: it can change the way people think and look at you, change your whole life around, and it can gain more trust from others.
We all have, or had, a reputation. Whether it is grades, clothes, sports, or anything else, we have all built up a reputation. Now think to yourself, was it a good or a bad reputation, did you have to lie to gain it or did you do it all by yourself? We all want people to think of us in a positive way, and when people know that when what they think of you is that opinion because they know the truth, you gain a lot more respect. I am not trying to tell you to go out to the world and blurt out your biggest secrets, but to be careful when you are telling people stuff, that you can have the courage to tell the truth. Trust me, you will gain a lot more respect from others!
I was once reading a book called CASH ON DELIVERY. It is a play about one man who is pretending to be about 5 different persons that are not very wealthy and are living in this mans house. He signs a bunch of papers and starts to get money from the government and lots of donaters. Everything is starting to unravel and he has the choice to either be in a lot of trouble from the government or lie some more. Of course lying in the beginning sounded pleasing, but now he is caught in a bigger net and cant get out of it. Of course this is just one example of how lying can change your life, but one that I will always remember, and I hope you will remember it to.
It is hard to trust someone when you know they are lying to you, or even if they lied in the passed. lets use the example of electing a president for example, we all want a president who is going to keep our country safe and in good hands. If they lie, you don't know who to trust, if this person is telling the truth, you know we will be safe. We gain more trust through being honest, we lose trust when we lie. would you rather gain or lose trust from others? Only you can decided that.
In conclusion, being honest can save you, and lying can ruin you. If you want more respect, trust, and a normal life, the awnser is simple: DON'T LIE! If you want the opposite of that, go ahead and lie. only you can decide what you want in life. Do your best and you will be just fine.
