Intro to Crucible: Honesty

We all lie. Even if we don't want to admit it, We all lie. I can t even tell you how far lying can take you through life. Lying can impact all of us. But honesty, honesty is always the best policy: it can change the way people think and look at you, change your whole life around, and it can gain more trust from others.
We all have, or had, a reputation. Whether it is grades, clothes, sports, or anything else, we have all built up a reputation. Now think to yourself, was it a good or a bad reputation, did you have to lie to gain it or did you do it all by yourself? We all want people to think of us in a positive way, and when people know that when what they think of you is that opinion because they know the truth, you gain a lot more respect. I am not trying to tell you to go out to the world and blurt out your biggest secrets, but to be careful when you are telling people stuff, that you can have the courage to tell the truth. Trust me, you will gain a lot more respect from others!
I was once reading a book called CASH ON DELIVERY. It is a play about one man who is pretending to be about 5 different persons that are not very wealthy and are living in this mans house. He signs a bunch of papers and starts to get money from the government and lots of donaters. Everything is starting to unravel and he has the choice to either be in a lot of trouble from the government or lie some more. Of course lying in the beginning sounded pleasing, but now he is caught in a bigger net and cant get out of it. Of course this is just one example of how lying can change your life, but one that I will always remember, and I hope you will remember it to.
It is hard to trust someone when you know they are lying to you, or even if they lied in the passed. lets use the example of electing a president for example, we all want a president who is going to keep our country safe and in good hands. If they lie, you don't know who to trust, if this person is telling the truth, you know we will be safe. We gain more trust through being honest, we lose trust when we lie. would you rather gain or lose trust from others? Only you can decided that.
In conclusion, being honest can save you, and lying can ruin you. If you want more respect, trust, and a normal life, the awnser is simple: DON'T LIE! If you want the opposite of that, go ahead and lie. only you can decide what you want in life. Do your best and you will be just fine.
